We believe your vacation time should be as intentional as the time you spend working, parenting and surviving the daily grind. That’s why our individual cottages in Onekama make perfect getaway space for two people. We love children and pets but the time you spend at our cottage will be free of bubbly children and tail wagging fur babies.

Our resort offers you the space to recharge, explore a little and reconnect. We designed our property around casual fun so grab your cooler and guitar, swim suit, mountain bike and hiking shoes.

Explore all that Northern Michigan has to offer, warm up by our nightly campfire or catch up on lost nap time with a relaxing getaway at the Green Buoy Resort. Your premier lodging on Portage Lake in Onekama, Michigan. Four miles from Lake Michigan beaches, 7 miles to Arcadia Bluffs Golf Resort, 12 miles to Manistee and just an hour to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City wineries.

• Each cottage sleeps a max of 2 guests, adults only please.

• Friends and family traveling together will need to make individual reservations. We do not allow third party bookings.

• A valid ID is required at check in.

• Our property is for registered guests only. Visitors must be pre approved by the host.

The Really Important Part

It's pretty simple at the Green Buoy. We have a few basic rules.

Adults only~ no infants/children/teens

No smoking/vaping or marijuana. This includes our outdoor spaces including your vehicle.

No pets/animals ~ even the very well behaved cute ones.

Security cameras are in use in outdoor public spaces.

Any violations will result in immediate termination of guest reservation with no refunds and a $500 non compliance fee will be added to guest's bill.

Minimum Stay Requirements

Summers in Michigan, well you already know, is when everyone wants to visit. Some of our units have a 5 night minimum and others are 3 night depending on the season.

• Memorial Day holiday and Labor Day holiday require a 3 night stay.

• July 4 holiday requires a 5 night stay.

• Wednesday check-ins may require a 4 night stay depending on the week.

• We do not accept check-ins on Saturday

• Weekend stays require both a Friday and Saturday combined.

For stays of a week or more, our Stay Longer package offers guests 10% off.

Cancellation Policy

We are a small seasonal business and cancellations impact us significantly.

Cancellations will receive credit only, no refunds. Future stay credits good for 1 year from date reservation was initially made.

Cancellations must be requested via email and must have a valid cancellation number.

The only cancellations eligible for future stay credits are those made with at least 30 days notice from confirmed arrival date.

If a cancellation is requested less than 30 days from arrival date, regardless of the reason, your charges are NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY CREDITS. We are a small seasonal business and cancellations impact us significantly.

Early checkouts, no shows or non compliance terminations are not eligible for credits or refunds.

Cancellation fee of $50 will apply toward future stay credit.

Any modifications made to reservations will result in a $25 change fee once reservation has been confirmed.

While accidents do happen, guests will be financially responsible for damage due to gross negligence.
