• FUN FACTS!
• Our pool was installed in 1954 and is an official Esther Williams model.
• Esther Williams (1921-2013) was a famous Olympic gold medalist in swimming.
• Also a Hollywood actress, Esther starred in Take Me Out to the Ball game, Million Dollar Mermaid and Bathing Beauty to name a few.
• The pool is spring fed from underground springs and artesian well water from the hose.
• She is in pretty good shape for her age - over 70 years old!
• Look for the original plaque with her logo on the east side of the deep end.
• Enjoy the signature ledge around the deep end which is 9 feet deep.
• Drinks ok, but no glass please.
• Morning coffee is nice here too and yoga!
• Open Memorial Day to Labor Day

A traditional sauna session usually goes in rounds.
• Warm up slowly- You step into a hot room, often 160-190 degrees. At first it feels intense, then your body adjusts. People sit quietly, this isn’t a loud, chatty space.
• Steam (loyly)- Water is ladled over hot stones to create steam. In Finland, that steam is called loyly, and it’s kind of the soul of the sauna. The heat softens, deepens, and wraps around you.
• Sweat it out. You stay until you feel fully heated there’s no fixed time. Could be 5 minutes or 15.
You listen to your body, not the clock.
• Cool down. This is key to the ritual. Step outside into fresh air, take a cold shower or roll in the snow. That hot/cold contrast is what people crave, it wakes you up in a very primal way.
• Rest. Sit, hydrate, breathe. Let your body settle.

This scenic overlook is just north of the cottages. We enjoy hiking here in the summer and fall.

There are a few spots on the back road where your Jeep can almost kiss the water.
